How to Choose Between Them

Three rules that resolve most decisions.

  1. Safari first, beach second. Safari means 5.30am starts. The beach is where you recover. Doing it the other way round is the most commonly regretted decision on this list.
  2. Move nights from safari to beach, not the reverse. Three excellent safari nights plus nine on a beach costs far less than six and six, and is arguably the better honeymoon.
  3. Do not add a third country under fourteen nights. Internal flights in Africa often backtrack through a hub, so a third stop can cost you two full days of travel.
