13 nights · Tanzania safari + Seychelles
Tanzania & Seychelles honeymoon package: safari first, islands second
A serious Serengeti-and-Ngorongoro safari followed by a slow Seychelles finish for couples who want wildlife and beach without compromising either half.
A strong 13-night shape: one arrival night, five nights across northern Tanzania, then seven nights in the Seychelles. It costs more than Tanzania + Zanzibar, but the island half feels more secluded and resort-led.
Route at a glance
| Stop | Nights | Why it is here |
|---|---|---|
| Arusha | 1 | Buffer after the long-haul flight |
| Ngorongoro + Serengeti | 5 | Big wildlife, varied landscapes and several full safari days |
| Seychelles | 7 | Beach, privacy and a completely different pace |
Why this combination works
Tanzania gives the safari half real depth: the Ngorongoro Crater adds a compact, wildlife-rich day before several nights in the Serengeti. The Seychelles then works as a deliberate contrast rather than an extension of the safari. Instead of another busy sightseeing schedule, the second half is about beaches, swimming, boat days and long meals.
This package makes most sense for couples who have enough budget to protect both halves. If price is the main constraint, Tanzania + Zanzibar is usually the cleaner value choice.
Suggested 13-night itinerary
- Night 1: Arusha. Recover from the international journey.
- Nights 2–3: Ngorongoro area. One crater day plus time to settle into the safari rhythm.
- Nights 4–6: Serengeti. Choose the sector around your travel month rather than a famous lodge name alone.
- Nights 7–13: Seychelles. Base yourselves on one island for a slower stay, or split between Praslin and La Digue if you enjoy moving.
What should you budget?
For planning, a couple should normally think in the region of US$15,000–24,000+ including long-haul flights from Europe, internal African flights, safari accommodation and a good Seychelles stay. The biggest variables are safari camp category, seasonal park demand, island resort level and whether you add inter-island flights or private transfers.
Best time to travel
There is no single perfect month for both regions, so the goal is a strong overlap. Tanzania safari conditions vary by area and migration movement, while the Seychelles varies by wind and coast. The best package is built around your actual month, then the Serengeti sector and island coastline are chosen accordingly. See the Africa honeymoon timing guide for the broader seasonal picture.
Who should choose this package?
- Couples who want an iconic safari but prefer a quieter island finish than Zanzibar.
- Honeymooners comfortable with a higher flight and resort budget.
- Couples who want seven proper beach nights rather than squeezing the ocean into a short add-on.
Is Tanzania and Seychelles too much travel for one honeymoon?
Not if you allow around thirteen nights or more. With a shorter trip, the additional regional flight starts to take too much time from the holiday.
Should we stay on one Seychelles island or two?
For seven nights, one island gives the most relaxed honeymoon. Two islands work if you actively enjoy changing hotels and want both Praslin and La Digue.
Is this better than Tanzania and Zanzibar?
It is more secluded and usually more expensive. Tanzania + Zanzibar is easier and better value; Tanzania + Seychelles is stronger when the island experience itself is a major priority.
