When is the best time for a honeymoon in Zambia?
Zambia has a clear pattern of one dry season and one rainy season. The dry months are the classic safari window, with cool mornings in June and July and rising heat through September and October. The rains usually arrive in November, turning the bush green and bringing lower prices, but many seasonal camps in South Luangwa and the Lower Zambezi close because roads and airstrips become impassable.

Best time for walking safaris
South Luangwa is famous as a home of the walking safari, and walks run in the dry season, roughly June to October. The Lower Zambezi is excellent for canoeing and boating over the same months, with elephants and hippos along the river. By September and October, the bush is thin and animals stay close to water, making sightings of leopard, lion and wild dog more likely.
Victoria Falls through the year
From about March to May, the Zambezi is at its highest and the Falls are thunderous, but the spray can hide the view and soak you on the paths. From about August to December, the water drops, you see more of the rock face on the Zambian side, and Devil’s Pool on Livingstone Island is usually open, typically from mid-August into January depending on water levels.
