The short answer
Seychelles is genuinely year-round: official tourism guidance puts typical temperatures at roughly 24–32°C. The trade-off is not “good season versus bad season” so much as hotter and wetter versus cooler and windier. The northwest trades dominate roughly October to March, while the southeast trades are strongest around May to September.
For honeymoon planning: pick your dates around what you actually care about. Choose April–May or October–November for calmer water; June–September if you prefer slightly cooler, drier conditions and do not mind more wind; January–February if lower crowds or lush scenery matter more than humidity and rain risk.

Seychelles month by month
January
One of the wetter months. Expect tropical showers and high humidity, but also warm seas and plenty of usable beach time between showers.
February
Similar to January: tropical, green and humid. Good if you are comfortable trading weather certainty for a quieter feel outside peak festive dates.
March
Winds often start easing. A strong month if you want warmth but would prefer calmer water than in the heart of the northwest-trade period.
April
Tourism Seychelles identifies April as especially calm and warm. Excellent for swimming, snorkelling, diving and a multi-island honeymoon.
May
Still one of the official best-time months. Conditions gradually shift toward the stronger southeast trade winds.
June
A comfortable month for hiking and outdoor time. Exposed seas can be rougher, especially on south-eastern coasts.
July
Typically cooler and breezier. Good for active couples; less ideal if perfectly flat water is the main honeymoon priority.
August
Similar to July. Beach selection matters because exposed coasts can be rougher and seaweed can affect some southern beaches.
September
Still relatively dry and breezy, with conditions starting to move toward the calmer October transition.
October
Excellent honeymoon timing: warm weather, lighter winds and generally calmer seas. Particularly good for island-hopping and water activities.
November
Still an official best-time month. Humidity and shower chances increase as the wetter season develops, but winds are often light.
December

What the trade winds mean for your honeymoon
From roughly May to September, the southeast trades are stronger. Tourism Seychelles describes this period as cooler and drier but also notes rougher or more agitated seas on exposed south-eastern coasts. From roughly October to March, northwest trades are generally lighter, with warmer and more humid weather.
That matters most if your honeymoon is built around boats, ferries and swimming. Stronger winds do not ruin Seychelles — they simply make hotel coastline and beach orientation more important.
Seaweed: the detail honeymooners often miss
Tourism Seychelles specifically warns that during the seasonal trade winds from May to October, seaweed can wash onto some southern coasts of Mahé and Praslin. That does not mean the whole island is affected. Conditions vary by beach, and a clean stretch of sand is usually available elsewhere.
If you travel in June, July, August or September, do not choose a resort purely from a beautiful aerial photograph. Check which side of the island it faces and whether the resort actively redirects guests to alternative beaches when seasonal seaweed appears.
Best time for island-hopping
If your plan is Mahé + Praslin + La Digue, the transition months are easiest. April–May and October–November generally provide calmer seas, which makes ferry-heavy itineraries more comfortable. The May–September southeast trades can create rougher passages, particularly for travellers prone to seasickness.
If you are travelling during windier months, domestic flights between Mahé and Praslin can be worth the extra cost. The Praslin–La Digue ferry is much shorter.

September wedding: good for couples who like active days and lower humidity. If you want mirror-flat water, wait until October if your schedule allows.
December wedding: beautiful but expensive around Christmas and New Year. Book early and expect hotter, wetter conditions.
