Mauritius Honeymoon Cost

Realistic 7-, 10- and 14-night budgets — with resort costs, meal plans, flights, tourist fees, activities and the honeymoon discounts that can genuinely change the total.
Cost guide for couples
The short answer
Mauritius is easier to budget than many African honeymoon destinations because the hotel usually dominates the cost and many resorts sell half-board or all-inclusive plans. The biggest variables are resort level, room category, meal plan, season and long-haul airfare rather than complicated internal logistics.
Pricing basis: All ranges are indicative planning estimates per couple. The first number on each card is for the Mauritius portion — accommodation, stated meal plan, airport transfers and a reasonable activity allowance — and excludes intercontinental flights. The second range assumes economy flights from a major European hub. Your actual departure city and dates can move airfare substantially.
7, 10 and 14-night Mauritius honeymoon budgets

7 nights
Ideal for one resort. At the lower end, use a strong four-star or honeymoon offer; at the upper end, choose a five-star beachfront property or better room category.

10 nights
The sweet spot for most couples: enough time to settle into one resort, or split two coasts without making the honeymoon feel like a hotel tour.

14 nights
Best for a deliberately slow honeymoon, a two-coast stay or mainland Mauritius plus four or five nights on Rodrigues.
Budget by travel style
| Travel style | Typical 10-night Mauritius portion | What that usually means |
|---|---|---|
| Value-conscious | US$3,000–4,500 | Good four-star resort, breakfast or half-board, standard room, shared or standard private transfers and selected excursions. |
| Comfortable | US$4,500–6,500 | Strong four- or five-star resort, half-board or all-inclusive, sea-view upgrade and a few paid activities. |
| Premium | US$6,500–12,000 | Flagship five-star resort, better room category, private transfers, spa or boat day and a more inclusive meal plan. |
| Exceptional | US$15,000–30,000+ | Private-pool villa or top suite, high-end dining, private boat or helicopter-style upgrades and very little compromise on room category. |
Where the money goes
1. The resort and room category
This is the main cost. In Mauritius, a sea-view room, beachfront suite or private-pool villa can change the total more than almost any excursion. The good news is that honeymoon-specific discounts are unusually common, so the same room can price very differently depending on whether you qualify for a honeymoon offer.
2. Half-board vs all-inclusive
Half-board usually means breakfast and dinner; all-inclusive can add lunch, drinks and selected resort activities depending on the hotel. All-inclusive is easiest to justify on Le Morne, the east coast and Bel Ombre where many couples spend most of the trip inside the resort. Around Grand Baie, half-board can be smarter because independent restaurants are part of the appeal.
3. Flights
Long-haul flights are the biggest reason two couples can quote very different “Mauritius honeymoon costs” for the same hotel. Rather than hard-coding an airfare, compare the resort-only total first and then add the live fare from your actual departure city. Flight + hotel package pricing can also be materially different from booking each component separately.
4. Tourist fee
Since 1 October 2025, Mauritius charges a €3 tourist fee per tourist aged 12 or over for each night in registered tourist accommodation. For a honeymoon couple that is €42 for seven nights, €60 for ten nights and €84 for fourteen nights. The accommodation collects the fee. See the Mauritius Revenue Authority notice →
5. Transfers, car hire and excursions
Mauritius does not need the expensive light-aircraft network of a safari destination. Most couples use an airport transfer, then taxis, a driver or a rental car for one or two exploration days. If the honeymoon is mainly resort-led, transport remains a relatively small part of the total.
2026 honeymoon offers that can materially reduce the cost
Beachcomber: 30% honeymoon discount
Beachcomber currently advertises 30% off accommodation including the meal plan for eligible honeymoon stays from 1 November 2025 to 31 October 2026, excluding Royal Palm. A wedding certificate is required and the stay must fall within 12 months of the wedding.
The offer also includes honeymoon gifts and, for stays of at least four nights, one complimentary couples experience. Check the official Beachcomber honeymoon offer →
Four Seasons: advance-purchase and long-stay savings
Four Seasons Mauritius currently advertises up to 25% off its bed-and-breakfast rate when booked at least 21 days in advance on selected dates, and separately offers a complimentary fifth night with every four paid nights on eligible one-bedroom villa stays. These are live offers, not permanent pricing, so compare them for your dates before choosing a room.
Important: Honeymoon rates normally require proof of a recent wedding and can have stricter cancellation terms than flexible rates. A discount is only valuable if the room, meal plan and cancellation conditions still suit the trip.
What does your budget actually buy?
| Total budget for two | What a realistic Mauritius honeymoon can look like |
|---|---|
| About US$5,000 | Seven nights at a good four-star or discounted five-star resort, usually with breakfast or half-board, plus economy flights from Europe if booked well. |
| About US$10,000 | Ten nights at a strong five-star resort, often with half-board or all-inclusive, better room category, private transfers and several paid experiences. |
| About US$20,000 | Top five-star resort, suite or selected private-pool category, premium dining and private activities, with plenty of room for higher airfare. |
| US$40,000+ | Top villas, premium flights, private boat days, spa and highly personalised transfers — or Mauritius combined with a premium African safari. |
Which part of Mauritius costs more?
| Area | Cost tendency | How to use the budget well |
|---|---|---|
| Le Morne / south-west | Premium | Pay for the setting and sunsets; avoid upgrading every element of the stay at once. |
| Belle Mare / east | Mid-to-premium | Strong area for half-board and all-inclusive resort packages. |
| Grand Baie / north | Wide range | Use half-board and eat outside the resort if restaurants are part of the trip. |
| Trou aux Biches / north-west | Mid-to-premium | Good compromise between beach quality and access to the north. |
| Bel Ombre / south | Mid-to-premium | Resort-led packages can be strong value because you are less likely to spend outside the property. |
| Rodrigues | Lower accommodation, extra transport | Use it for contrast and simplicity; the domestic flight means it is not automatically cheaper overall. |
Where couples overspend
- Paying for all-inclusive in Grand Baie when you actually want to eat out.
- Upgrading both the room and meal plan automatically. Decide which matters more.
- Choosing a private-pool villa but planning excursions every day. If you pay for the room, leave time to use it.
- Ignoring honeymoon offers. Mauritius has unusually strong discounts and extras for newlyweds.
- Booking festive dates without checking mandatory dinner supplements. Christmas and New Year can add substantial compulsory costs at luxury resorts.
How to save without making the honeymoon worse
- Choose one excellent resort for seven to ten nights instead of splitting a short stay.
- Use the hotel’s official honeymoon offer when the cancellation terms are acceptable.
- Book a sea-view room before a private pool if your budget only allows one major room upgrade.
- Use half-board in the north and more inclusive plans in resort-led areas.
- Travel in the strong shoulder windows rather than festive peak dates.
- Compare a live flight + hotel package with separate bookings before paying.

How much does a Mauritius honeymoon cost for two people?
A practical planning range for ten nights is roughly US$3,800–8,500 per couple for the Mauritius portion, or around US$5,000–11,500 when economy flights from a major European hub are included. Private-pool villas and peak festive dates can cost substantially more.
Is Mauritius cheaper than Seychelles for a honeymoon?
Usually yes at a comparable resort level. Mauritius has a much larger resort market, more meal-plan competition and frequent honeymoon offers, while Seychelles tends to have higher accommodation and island-transfer costs.
Is all-inclusive worth it in Mauritius?
Often yes on Le Morne, the east coast and Bel Ombre where the resort is likely to be the centre of the trip. Around Grand Baie, half-board is often more flexible because there are many restaurants outside the hotel.
What is the Mauritius tourist fee?
Mauritius charges €3 per tourist aged 12 or over for each night in registered tourist accommodation. That is €60 for a couple staying ten nights.
Can honeymoon offers really save money in Mauritius?
Yes. Beachcomber currently advertises 30% off accommodation including the meal plan for eligible honeymoon stays in its 2025–26 offer period, while other luxury groups run honeymoon, advance-purchase and long-stay offers. Always check the proof-of-marriage and cancellation conditions.
