The short answer
Botswana’s best lodges are small, remote and usually sold on a highly inclusive basis. That makes headline room prices look extreme, but they often include meals, local drinks, twice-daily activities, park or concession fees, laundry and airstrip transfers. What is not always included is the light-aircraft routing between camps — and in Botswana that can be a meaningful part of the final trip cost.
This shortlist deliberately mixes flagship lodges, strong private-concession camps and two contrasting non-Delta choices. The goal is not to rank décor. It is to help couples build a route in which each stay adds something different.

10 Botswana honeymoon lodges worth shortlisting
1. Xigera Safari Lodge
Xigera is the choice when the lodge itself should feel like part of the honeymoon. Its 12 suites sit in the Okavango landscape with a strong African art and design identity, a serious spa programme and the ability to mix game drives, boating, mokoro excursions and walking depending on conditions.
2. Wilderness Mombo
Mombo is the splurge for couples who care most about wildlife rather than water activities. It is one of Botswana’s best-known predator and big-game camps and is priced accordingly. Wilderness publishes a fully inclusive 2026 rate of US$5,043 per person per night for June–October.
3. Wilderness Qorokwe
Qorokwe is a useful counterpoint to Mombo because it keeps the private-concession experience while its published rates sit materially lower. Wilderness lists US$2,940 per person per night for June–October 2026 and US$1,710 for 1 November–19 December.
4. Wilderness Chitabe
Chitabe is a strong land-camp choice when you want classic game drives, predators and varied habitats rather than making mokoro the main event. Wilderness lists US$3,392 per person per night for June–October 2026, falling to US$2,067 in November before the festive period.
5. &Beyond Sandibe Okavango Safari Lodge
Sandibe combines dramatic architecture with a game-rich private concession. Published 2026 indicative rates run from about US$1,850 per person per night in the lower season to around US$4,100 in June–October, including meals, local drinks, safari activities, laundry, airstrip transfers and park fees.
6. Zarafa Camp
Zarafa is one of the most intimate options on this list: only four rooms on the private Selinda Reserve, overlooking Zibadianja Lagoon. The reserve links the Okavango and Chobe/Savute wildlife corridors, giving this stop a different geographic feel from a second Delta camp.
7. Belmond Eagle Island Lodge
Eagle Island sits on Xaxaba Island in the Delta and has 12 rooms with private plunge pools. Belmond includes at least two game-viewing activities per day and offers a broad menu across water, land and air, including mokoro and helicopter experiences.
8. Belmond Savute Elephant Lodge
Savute Elephant Lodge is in Chobe National Park beside the Savute Channel. Its 12 tented rooms, permanent waterhole and viewing hide make it a strong land-safari contrast after the Delta, while the spa and full-service structure keep it honeymoon-friendly.
9. Chobe Game Lodge
Chobe Game Lodge is the practical luxury choice for the Chobe riverfront. It is the only permanent lodge directly on the river inside Chobe National Park and offers both game drives and boat safaris, including quiet electric vehicles and solar-powered boats.
10. Jack’s Camp
Jack’s Camp earns its place because it solves a different problem from every Delta lodge above. The Makgadikgadi gives you huge salt-pan landscapes, desert wildlife and a completely different visual rhythm. Natural Selection lists Jack’s Camp among its premier Botswana camps for 2026.

The more useful question is whether the extra US$1,000–2,000 per person per night changes the safari enough to justify it. Sometimes it does: a smaller concession, better location or private-vehicle flexibility can transform the experience. Sometimes it mostly buys a larger suite. For a honeymoon, spend on location, privacy and activity access first, then room size.
Water camp or land camp?
Water-led camps are why the Okavango is unique. They give you mokoro, boating and a slower, quieter perspective. Land-led camps generally deliver stronger predator and big-game viewing. A mixed camp can do both when water levels allow, but Botswana is seasonal enough that you should ask what activities are genuinely operating on your exact dates. For a first six-night Botswana safari, our preferred structure is three nights water-led + three nights land-led. If you add Chobe, Savute or Makgadikgadi, extend to nine or ten nights rather than cutting each lodge to two nights.
Flagship lodge or two very good camps?
If your total safari budget is fixed, two strong camps often beat one flagship and one compromised stop. For example, the published 2026 peak rates at Mombo are materially above Qorokwe and Chitabe. The premium can make sense for wildlife-obsessed couples, but it should be a conscious decision rather than assuming the highest nightly rate automatically creates the best honeymoon.
There are also real long-stay savings at some operators. &Beyond currently advertises Botswana combination discounts of up to 25% on qualifying 2026 stays, depending on length and travel dates. That is another reason to price the itinerary as a whole rather than booking camps one by one.
What about &Beyond Xaranna?
Xaranna would normally belong in this conversation because of its private concession and seasonal lagoon setting, but &Beyond currently lists the camp as temporarily closed for a significant refurbishment. We would not build a 2026 honeymoon around it until reopening dates are confirmed directly.

Six safari nights: Eagle Island or Xigera for the water-led half, then Chitabe, Qorokwe, Sandibe or Mombo for stronger land-based wildlife. Add three nights at Chobe Game Lodge or Savute if you have nine nights, or Jack’s Camp if desert landscapes appeal more than another big-game stop.

What is the best Botswana honeymoon lodge?
There is no single best lodge because Botswana works best as a combination. Mombo is a flagship wildlife choice, Xigera is exceptional for design and mixed Delta activities, Eagle Island is strong for a water-led honeymoon stay, and Zarafa is particularly intimate.
How many nights should we spend at each safari lodge?
Three nights per camp is the strongest default. Two nights often feels rushed once light-aircraft transfers are included, while four nights works well when one camp offers genuinely varied activities.
Should honeymooners choose a water camp or land camp in the Okavango?
Ideally both. A water-led camp gives you mokoro and boating, while a land-led concession generally offers stronger predator and big-game viewing. Three nights of each creates a more complete first Delta experience.
Are Botswana safari lodge rates all-inclusive?
