São Tomé and Príncipe sits in the Gulf of Guinea almost on the equator. What makes the islands special for couples?
Beaches without a resort strip

The islands are tropical and green year-round. The main drier period, locally called Gravana, runs roughly from June to September and is particularly good for walking, road trips and exploring. A shorter drier spell around December to February can also work very well for beach time, diving and a winter honeymoon.
March to May and October into November are generally wetter. They can be exceptionally lush and atmospheric, but couples planning lots of hiking or beach time should build in more weather flexibility.

A 10-night São Tomé & Príncipe honeymoon
Recover from the international journey, explore the capital and north or central island, and use Omali or Pestana São Tomé as an easy first base.

Return to the main island. Either keep the final nights easy near the airport or head south for Praia Inhame if flight timing allows and you want one last remote coastal chapter.
Do not overfill the itinerary. The reason to come here is precisely that you do not have to move every second day. If you have only seven nights, use two on São Tomé and five on Príncipe rather than trying to circle both islands.

International flights arrive on São Tomé. Príncipe is then reached by a domestic flight, so build some buffer into a honeymoon with important onward connections. Schedules can change and this is not a destination where very tight same-day connections add anything useful.
Money
The local currency is the São Tomé and Príncipe dobra (STN). Higher-end hotels can handle more payments electronically, but cash remains useful away from the main properties and in smaller towns.
